Ah, that is quite the predicament... Traditionally speaking, in most cases petrifaction is non-lethal. To cure it you would need to sprinkle the blood of whatever beast caused the ailment onto the victim, but would have to be cautious in doing so. To touch the blood of the beast - Medusa, the Basilisk, and creatures similar to them - would turn you to granite, so you would need to carry it within another vessel that would turn to granite itself instead. In some stories and myths, killing the perpetrator would also reverse damage done. Of course, many things have not followed such reasonable laws on this peninsula, and you may find yourself facing different circumstances.
