[Sorry Chiaki, it's quite a while later that he answers. Think mid-afternoon. Between recovering from the excitement that morning brought and sulking over his dumb feet, he didn't have a whole lot of time or interest to check his laptop. So it'll definitely have to be after work, classmate. But eventually he rouses from a sulk nap to see what people have been saying on the network at least and oh, a private chat?

Oh...right. Fuyuhiko knew it was his birthday too, and he vaguely remembers him mentioning the gamer girl...or did he imagine that? Either way, he didn't think much about it at the time, but now that she's actually wished him a happy birthday - as well as apparently bought him a present? - he's...surprised. And not sure exactly how to feel about it really. He's still kind of processing that the heir cared about his birthday, and that guy is like his best friend so that's really not that weird.

He's...touched? Maybe? Or sick. There are some weird fuzzies in his stomach and chest and he's not sure what they mean honestly.]

Unfortunately, I am not in much of a state to meet you anywhere. If you wished to stop by the motel, however, we could speak then. I was not aware you knew such an inconsequential date.

[And then, about half a minute later after struggling with himself on what exactly to say--]

[Very thoughtful is right! Once she knocks, he gets up to answer the door. It takes a few minutes, because he has new weird toes to learn how to walk with, but eventually he's opening the door and slipping out to meet her. Fuyuhiko is getting some much needed rest and after helping him out this morning with his changes he deserves some rest.

She receives a short bow. He's obviously not a bear anymore, demon features having returned and then some. His horns are all fully grown, he's got weird hoof toes, scales in places, more runes...this morning was a trip and a half.]

... Good afternoon. This is for you. [ There's a pause as she gives him a rather vacant stare before handing him a box; if he opens it, he'll find cookies that look like they're made by a five year old -- they're supposed to look like hamsters, but it's clear that they're rough around the edges.

But at least they shouldn't taste bad?? They just don't look perfect. ]

[He'll hesitate a little before doing so, because this is still a little surreal - getting gifts from people other than his mother for his birthday - but he'll open it. Though when he does, he just ends up staring a little at the cookies. A little rough around the edges, but they have the basic shape enough that he can recognize what they're supposed to be. Hamster cookies...]

[Here hold on, he's going to shuffle the lid and box into one arm so he can take one of the rougher ones out, examine it a little (it looks pretty safe) and then take a bite.

[Homemade cookies...not quite like what his mother made (probably for the better) but it's still pretty nostalgic for him.]

[He nods, setting the cookie he'd been eating back in the box. Sorry he's not super talkative right now, Chiaki. He had a rough day, and this gift is kind of giving him a little heartache, the more he eats and thinks about it.

Which is a very good thing. It's a very good gift. There'd definitely be the ping of a hopeshard obtained sounding right now if they had their cards. She'll have to settle for a grateful bow instead.]
