[He really doesn't need to worry about Fuyuhiko's money-making ventures though. Despite how shady it looks, he's not actually breaking any laws or really doing anything even remotely suspect. But if you don't bother to ask the obvious questions, of course you're never going to get an explanation. At least, as not as far as money is concerned. The medicine, however...]
Yeah. I can't remember, did I mention Kimishima to you? The arachne I met when we first got here. She runs a clinic that specializes in treating monsters up by the lake. So unlike the pharmacy last night, I could tell her everything instead of making it sound like you burned yourself cooking or something.
no subject
A clinic for monsters...how charitable of her.
[And once those bandages are off, he starts working on uncovering his left arm. At this point maybe he should just leave this off at home. Fuyuhiko's seen him him without it bandaged already. A few times, maybe, he doesn't remember, but once is really enough to reveal that it's not as deadly as Gundam would like it to be. Ugh.
Look at everything you ruin, Fog God. If he wasn't here, this kind of stuff wouldn't happen!]
I imagine the hellions of this realm do not make such a task easy for her.
no subject
[At least he seems to recognize that, even if the cut looks better, it's probably still very annoying and possibly painful and obviously Gundam would want relief as soon as possible. So he starts eating faster.]
No idea how hard it is for her to run something like that, though. But she knows her shit so I wouldn't be surprised if she has an easy time of it. She's the one who suggested you might be turning into a demon when I told her about your changes.
no subject
We are very fortunate then that she is here.
[He doesn't have much more to say on the matter, it seems. After that he's happy to return to his food. At least until he rolls his right shoulder a little, his hand lifting to rub at it a little. Something seems to hit him at that point, and sets his fork down.]
I wonder if this ache in my shoulders is from further changes, rather than my state of slumber.
no subject
[Fuyuhiko also seems content enough to eat in silence for a while. If they're not talking, they'll get done faster after all.]
They're still sore? [Fuyuhiko stares at him thoughtfully. The mattresses here aren't exactly spectacular, but sleeping in a bed should have done SOMETHING for his soreness. And the way Gundam's talking, nothings really changed.] Well, you're gonna get wings eventually, so if it's in your shoulder blades it could be those coming in, I guess...
[Though that's a little disturbing to think about. Both what his body must be doing currently and what's going to happen when his wings DO decide to come in.]
no subject
There's a nod in reply, because yes. They are still sore. Very sore. And thinking about the wings in tandem with that fact...is kind of disturbing. With another roll of his shoulder he sets back into his rice, thoughtful.]
The soreness is centered around my shoulder blades, yes. With that in mind, that is likely the cause...
[Man he's getting wings already? Sweet...]
no subject
We'll find out one way or the other soon enough, I guess.
[Either the soreness will persist, proving it's wings, or it'll go away in a few days time meaning it was the forest floor after all. Either way, there's nothing to be done about it now. So Fuyuhiko goes back to his food, finishing it off and then taking his plate to the sink.]
By the way, since I didn't know exactly what caused your burn, she had to give me a general ointment for it. She said it'll still work it just won't be as effective as something specifically for silver or sunlight or whatever.
[He just sets his plate in the sink for now, he'll come clean it once they've taken care of Gundam's arm. He puts the leftover curry and rice in the refrigerator while waiting for the other boy to finish his own dinner.]
no subject
Either way though, soon he's getting up to follow with his own plate and fork, rinsing the plate off (all he had was rice, so why skip an easy process like that) before setting it in the sink as well.]
no subject
[He turns to look at Gundam, his exasperation increasing when he notices the grains of rice still sticking to his lips.] You've got rice on your face.
[HE CAN'T TAKE YOU ANYWHERE, JEEZ.]
[He makes a quick detour in the bathroom to grab the roll of bandages before grabbing the salve and moving to sit in the same spot on the edge of Gundam's bed as last night. Come on, get over here so he can patch your arm up. Again.]
no subject
Joining him on the bed through, he holds his arm out for him.]
Where the sunlight comes from is not in question here, as I am well aware of its source of origin. However, it would be unlikely that that could be used in such an instance like this. The weapon was solid, silver or steel to be sure, and you cannot simply enchant such a blade with "sunlight".
[Duh.]
If you were skilled in any sort of light element, or perhaps even a master over fire, you could potentially focus the sun's rays enough to fashion some sort of weapon. The easiest would be an arrow, as firing the light would most mimic its natural movement, however a blade would also be possible. Probably nothing larger than a dagger of some sort...
[Hmmm...dual wielding sun daggers...]
It could also be argued that capturing the sunlight into some form of focal piece, such as a crystal, would be possible, but I have not seen proof of this sort of power before.
no subject
[Oh my god, Gundam...]
Or... [Listen up, Gundam, this is important because you completely missed his point here.] you could just walk out your front door on a sunny day and burn yourself.
[Sometimes, the simplest explanation is best. He wasn't even talking about weapons, you weirdo.]
no subject
Something like that would only be practical if there were daylight to appear in. If it were late at night, a weapon of sunlight would be invaluable. If you were to come against an enemy with no other weaknesses in any form of twilight battle, they would have clear advantage without it.
[Still missing the point probably but......]
no subject
I'm not sure any of them would go through that much trouble. Especially since...some of them apparently have a trump card. Something that works on all monsters, no matter what type.
no subject
I was speaking in general defense, but what is this you are referring to...?
[He doesn't like the sound of this.]
no subject
[well if he's not getting anything other than a wince, he's going to keep doing what he's doing then.]
You need to be more careful from now on, Tanaka. You got damn lucky this time, from the sounds of things. Kimishima told me lots more than just how to use this stuff. Apparently there's a type of poison some of the hunters have that only affects monsters. Causes all kinds of weird mutations and shit that differs from type to type. But it's a painful experience across the board, and there's no cure for it. You just gotta wait till your body fights it off naturally. And that's not a quick experience, the way I understand it.
[SO DON'T FUCK WITH THE HUNTERS ANYMORE, DUMBASS.]
no subject
I...see...I will most certainly heed this warning...
[That is nothing he wants to tangle with.]
no subject
[That's a lie...he'd care. At least a little bit.]
There, I think that about does it... [He screws the cap back on the small jar. There's a little bit left still. Maybe enough for a small burn or two.] Hopefully we won't need what's left, but I'll put it in the bathroom with the rest of the medical shit.
[After he finishes wrapping up your arm, that is. Much more loosely than he did the night before. Naomi said it had to be able to breathe, after all!]
no subject
[Hopefully they won't have to test that. Not that he will go out of his way to fuck with them now, but still.]
Hopefully, however it is still good that there is some left. It may be ideal to purchase another in the future, just in case.
[Because what about you, Fuyuhiko? Who knows what you're weak against, and you won't know until you either learn what your monster is or learn the hard way like him.]
no subject
[Yeah he's...honestly wondering how long it's going to be before he winds up burning himself on something. Because with the rate his changes are going, that seems to be the more likely outcome.]
[He gets to his feet, collecting the jar and the bandages with the intent to go put them away before stopping and staring intently at Gundam. He's given him enough time to celebrate, right?]
Hey...you read that pamphlet Koizumi gave us, right?
no subject
[Something more specialized would be really good to have around the house for them. Not that this stuff isn't bad! But yeah...
What's that look for though? He sort of returns it, brows slowly furrowing until the heir poses his question.]
Yes, of course, though it was hardly necessary. As I had assumed, the creatures follow typical myths and legends from home. It was fairly useless to me.
no subject
[The pamphlet hadn't really elaborated on what happens to a body without its soul, after all. And he's not sure how much attention Gundam had been paying to he and Yosuke's conversation about soul eaters on the network.]

Kuzuryuu, you are speaking with a natural inhabitant of the Netherworld. Demons devour the souls of the innocent. This is not news to me.
[He can totally eat souls. Ain't no thang. Ignore the fact that he's still tense, despite the forced careless look on his face.]
no subject
[And definitely not because he wanted to be sure you had time to mentally prepare yourself or anything. Nope. He doesn't care about you that much.]
no subject
[But he's fine! No need to worry about him! He's eaten soooooo many souls before you don't even know Fuyuhiko. You don't even know.
There's still some anxiety in his voice as he continues talking, but for the most part he's managed to remove it from his expression.]
Rest assured, however, that the demons residing within the Netherworld of our realm operated similarly. Hunting humans for their life force is something we are taught from a young age. I've been doing so for years.
[Yup. Years. If he builds up his self image, that'll surely make it true and make it easier when the time comes. Definitely. Absolutely.]
It will be a breeze.
